I have been to other tailgating sites and noticed that their memberships are free. What’s the difference with the USTGA?
Q: What is the USTGA?
A: The USTGA is a national organization of professional tailgaters focusing on member benefits, social networking, the continued development of the tailgating community and a heck of a lot of fun.
Q: Who can be a member?
A: Anyone can be a member of the USTGA. There are various levels available from Apprentice to Lifetime Master. The Journeyman, Master and Lifetime Master levels are all considered to be in the Pro ranks.
Q: How much does it cost to join?
A: It depends on the level of membership you choose. USTGA memberships range from FREE for the Apprentice level, to $89.95 for a Lifetime Master membership. Each of the paid levels are considered professional and contain a range of membership benefits that far exceed the cost of joining. From merchandise to coupons, your membership will be well worth the cost.
Q: Why should I join?
A: Because you’ll love the benefits of membership! And, because we all take pride in what we do and it’s time we got a little recognition and formed a community of tailgating brothers and sisters. Personally, we’re tired of hearing that there is only one professional tailgater on the planet. We consider ourselves professionals and know that you do too. We all just need a way to show it. What better way than a full color membership card and the spiffy USTGA T-shirt you get with a Pro membership? Now you can flash your card and say, “You bet I’m a professional tailgater…check this out!”
Q: How long will it take to get my membership card and other goodies?
A: Generally, you should expect to receive your personalized membership card and USTGA merchandise within three to four weeks of ordering.
Q: What is my USTGA card good for?
A: Initially, your personalized card will be a matter of pride and proof that you are a Professional Tailgater. It will also allow you to visit the USTGA tour vehicle when it is in your town, and gain admittance to certain USTGA tailgating parties/pep rallies that will be held from time to time. As the USTGA grows, your card will be good for discounts and benefits at participating merchants…similar to a shoppers reward card.

A: We believe that a membership in any bona fide organization should provide real and tangible benefits…. and not be used simply as a method to collect names for marketing purposes. As a USTGA member, we promise that you will be much more than a name on a list. The USTGA is a real organization, with real benefits for its real members. While there is a free membership level available (Apprentice), we decided to offer paid memberships so that our tailgating friends could have the option of enjoying additional benefits and some nice goodies. It’s all about choice. Our ultimate goal is to create a family of tailgaters who are serious about being members…and serious about promoting the sport we all love!
